What we saw in
Dana White's recent interview
showed nothing more than Dana's anti-M1 tactics. A.k.a. - running a business by bashing the competition. After suffering 3 consecutive losses to Fabricio Werdum, Antonio Silva and Dan Henderson, Fedor Emeliaenko is still an enormous draw and I'm sure if it wasn't for the M1 guys, Dana would be more than willing to sign him, even on his 3 fight losing streak.
Look at CroCop - the guy has not been doing well in the UFC. CroCop is something like 3:6 in the UFC, been knocked out many times but he is still around!
Why?
Because Dana couldn't care less is CC wins or loses, as long as he draws audiences and generates money.
You don't think Fedor can do the same? You don't think Fedor can sell pay-per-views?
Of course he could do that. Problem is that he is under contract with M1. And Dana is having a hard time doing business with them.
The bottom line is that MMA has never been a sport.
Contrary to what the fas may think, MMA was never about who the best guy is.
It is and always has been about Cash. And this means that a good business deal between M1 and the UFC can solve the Fedor situation pretty easily.
